    anyone have one?

    N o but an instructor I know used a 1911 version (as a student) in a carbine class and was mightily impressed with its handling and reliability.

    thanks Tony, relialbility was my concern. I would assume that if the 1911's worked well the GLOCKs would too.

    Now I need to find out if the G34 will fit one.

    Do the G17 & G34 share the same frame dimensions?

    I think that's a pretty nifty idea..I'd probably go with an AR-15 carbine in 9mm though.
