Savage Axis bolt knob install
I sent off my Axis bolt to have them install a new bolt knob and coat bolt body with Cerakote microslick. I could not be happier with the results. I've had my TRG 42 bolt coated with microslick and it improves the bolt.
I wanted to give Phoenix Customs a big shout out for great pricing, but for fast turn around. I shipped my bolt on 02/11/13 and it arrived 02/20/13 even with Monday being a holiday. They had an offer over on SH to for bolt, bolt install along with Cerakote for $70 which also included shipping back. I paid $100, since I had the bolt body coated in microslick. Well worth the money.

Re: Savage Axis bolt knob install
I've always wanted Phoenix to replace my bolt knob, but they always charged more for bolts that weren't Remington.
I think the bolt knob looks very good and the micro slick is so smooth...this is by far the best Savage action that I've ever owned. I'm convinced that I would have this done to future rifles.
