Need help I.D.ing and antique.
This little beauty belongs to my father in law. It is not a .22, well at least it does not take a .22lr. I am think it is like a .17, I could be wrong would not be the first time. Any help would be greatly appreciated, also a value would be nice.

Wow! Those are the only markings?
I've seen old Colts that look like that but they're clearly marked.
Could be a Frank Wesson, perhaps even a Manhattan...back then Derringers were all similar to that. Definatley pre-dates 1900. You need an expert who studies that early stuff. Whatever it is, it's history in your hand. Sorry I couldn't be more help but I enjoy seeing these kind of early firearms. Thank you sharing pics.

Re: Need help I.D.ing and antique.
Highthawk,
This may sound strange but just last night my wife and i were talking about some old guns i have. I happen to have the same exact derringer with the only difference being mine is marked "K12" , the "12" is stamped on teh retrasctor, and the "K" is stamped on the cartridge locking swing. Sorry the best way i can describe it. Unfortunately we have no information on it either. Are those the original grips, mine had none when we acquired it and i fashioned some from wood butr never finished them. Please e-mail me or notify me here if any more info is founds. I'll do the same.m
Thanks Harry
