Loose primers

Maybe I am the only one with this problem, but here it is. I will occasionally end up with leftover primers, and some bonehead threw away the box, or lost it. If anyone has a good way to store them, I would be interested to read about it. I was thinking of labeling some organizer drawers for the purpose, but I am not sure if that is a good idea or not.

A 35mm film canister would be perfect, if you just happen to have one laying around for the last 15 years.

You can buy small tackle boxes that have different compartments so you can organize them.

I try to keep it simple and low cost. I label a zip lock bag with a Sharpie marker. If I think ahead of time that I won't use an entire box I toss the cardboard sleeve into the bag to avoid doubt.

Thanks guys. I just happen to have an organizer with little drawers doing nothing right now. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't creating an unsafe situation with them loose like that.

I actually have bunches of them - somewhere. Back in the day of film, I had my own B&W darkroom, bought film in bulk and rolled my own, etc. I have no idea where that stuff is now.

If your at that age left over prescription bottles also work great. I also use these to store bore swaps and brushes or anything else that gets a bit oil soaked.

I am at that age, but for some reason I really don't have any prescriptions that fit in a bottle - yet. I am sure they are on the way.

During the 1980s they recommended a 35mm film can filled with primers to initiate ANFO for hastey operations LOL

How about those plastic pill boxes that have compartments for the days of the week. You can label them and have all the odd primers in one package. I know they come in many sizes so if you reload for a lot of calibres you will have enough seprate compartments.

I use a Flambeau & MTM Primer Arrangers, It holds 100 - 200 primers and then there is no need to keep the boxes
You can get them on ebay for about $10.00
