    Default AR15 Pistol Thread

Searched the forum and this subforum for an AR15 Pistol Thread and didn't find any matches so I thought I'd open one up. I saw other people's pic threads but I don't want to threadcrap on anyone else's pic thread.

I've been sitting on this lower for 5 years and with the panic going on, I thought I'd finally build it for my birthday.

Adams Arm 5.56 PDW EVO Ultra Lite Piston Upper - 7.5"
Anvil Arms Stripped Lower - Custom Etched with Falling Down cover art
Rock River Arms LPK with National Match 2 Stage Trigger
Phase 5 Tactical Carbine Buffer Assembly inbound for completion on Tuesday.
ETA: Bought a Troy Industries QD Back plate for the Magpul MK3 Sling.
Obvious, this isn't complete yet but I'm too excited. I'll edit thread with complete pics in ASAP.

This is my first AR build. Only tools I needed were a hammer with some electrical tape, needle-nose pliers and a hex driver. I will say however that my thumbs STILL hurt. :P
ETA: Since bought and used a Tapco Armorers Tool for the Castle nut. Also got a brass hammer and punch set for the next time. I need MOAR!!

Also, of note, the RRA LPK trigger pins are super ridiculously tight in my Anvil Arms lower. I was worried I'd need an oversize replacement but these things aren't going anywhere.

ETA: Links are broken so fixing up

    Post pics of yours!

ETA: Buffer Tube took 3 weeks longer to get here than expected... But alas, it has finally arrived.

    Here she is complete

And she is all dolled up for a night on the town

AR pistols, personally I think they are a riot to shoot. Loud as heck and make me giggle like a school girl with every trigger pull.

Thanks for sharing! Rep to all posters until I forget about this thread or lose my wood.

Please post any details you have. Any issues with particular components, etc. AR15 pistols are so widely varied and information is scarce so anything anyone can share will be a huge gain to the enthusiast community!

I've only shot one before, it was GROPA's and it was a BOOMstick!

I've read, in passing, that the Noveske smokepig will help reduce that so that's on my acquisition list.

    Thanks, guys!

The muzzle flash from them is always fun.

all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Does the handle make it an AOW?

I had the same question with my friends Draco.

I know a forward vertical grip makes it an AOW. Not sure about that particular Magpul grip though.

No the ATf does not consider the AFG "Angled Foregrip" a vertical grip. There aletter from the ATF (I Think on this forum) addressing this issue. I think it was about a draco.

Edit: found the link to the Letter

#7 on third Page, I have seen letters strickly about the AFG but didnt see them.

If interested u can read ATF letter that specifically adresses the Magpul AFG on ar15.com here:

It is near the bottom of the first page!
