Default Why So Many Used Glocks at/above MSRP?

So I know, I know we have been seeing price gouging everywhere in the firearm industry but whats the deal with this? I am constantly seeing Glocks trying to be sold (not sure if they're actually selling) at new or MSRP prices?

I understand the magazines, but why these plastics pistols being drummed up in the craze? It almost makes me want to list some plastic and see what happens...

Are these guns being wiped out at LGS/Online that i just havent taken notice too, and if so why?

I get the rush on some imported surplus guns/etc that all makes a little sense to me, but Glocks, im a little taken back at the asking prices of these used guns ive been seeing lately on the forums/other sites as well as some guns like Beretta 92s etc.

Any reason for this or people just thinking people are paying more for everything right now?

People were buying anything they could get.

Aside from "potentially bannable" items, anything for "personal defense" was flying off the shelves as well.
Fear of restrictions had everyone who hadn't really considered buying to "get one while I can".

Just look at the record number of LTCF applications. Those people aren't getting one because they just bought a rifle.

That fact that they are hard to get at the moment is one reason that I can think of why people are asking for higher than normal prices. Just like AR's (which are starting to trickle in little by little) people are still trying to grab up whatever they can with all this AWB and high cap ban talk going on.

Ive got a couple theories. Part of the hype was speculation that Glock pistols would all be banned because the bill says "any semi automatic version of a fully automatic firearm." Speculation has been most of the fuel for this frenzy rather than fact.

Another possibility is people just seeing a chance to make a profit. A lot of people own Glocks but don't like the grip angle.

In addition, lots pf people don't know anything about guns other than so and so says buy a Glock. That puts them in high demand.
Let us hope for the best, but let us also prepare for the worst.

haha I think ill pass. I found a used gen3 for 550 at a local shop, but I'm not willing to pay the same price new gen4's were going for not long ago.
On another note though, I just realized you're a TST member too haha
