    Default Sig mags

    Can you put a sig 226 mag in a 229 like you can with a g17 into a g19?

I think so. Go to your local gun shop and ask if they have a 226 mag that you can try out in yours.

Yes you can, I believe they stick out past the end of the grip a bit, but they will work.

    I can use a 9mm 226 mag in my 228 and I think the 228 and 229 mags interchange.
As long as they are meant for the same caliber.
Don't quote me on that one.

I am reviewing my Sig Sauer P-226 Specifications in the Manual:
It states: The 9mm barrel and MAGAZINE ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE
with the .357 Sig or .40 S&W. The Sig .357 and the 40 S&W barrels CAN be
interchanged on the P-226 and the SAME MAGAZINE can be used for the .357
SIG or .40 S&W cartridges. (Page 21 of the manual).

Sig Sauer P229: The 9mm barrel and magazine ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE with the .357 Sig or 40 S&W. The .357 Sig or 40 S&W can be interchanged
on the P-229 and the same magazine can be used for the .357 Sig or 40 S&W
cartridges. (Page 23 of the manual).

Sig Sauer P-239: The .357 Sig and 40 S&W barrels can be interchanged in
the P-239. Each caliber will require a caliber specific magazine. Magazines are
not interchangeable between calibers. The 9mm barrel and magazine are not
interchangeable with the .357 Sig or 40 S&W. (Page 24 of the manual)

I can attest to the portion I made bold, as I have a .357sig and .40S&W barrel for my 226.

you can interchange the mags the p226 mags will wobble a little in the p229. and in the scenes of using a conversion barrel 9,40,and 357 sig all feed fine out of the same mags in my experience
