Winchester Ranger 230gr 45 ACP Gel Test Results

Finished up the testing of the Winchester Ranger 230gr 45 ACP (#RA45T) round. Here are the conditions and results.

Test conditions:
-Springfield Armory TRP with 5'' barre
-Test rounds fired from 10 feet
-"FBI spec" Clear Ballistics gel block
-4 layers of denim

Results:
-878 fps, 394 ft/lbs energy
-14'' of penetration

Don't think they make a +p for the 45 any more. I've shot these exact rounds next to standard fmj though and there is noticeably more recoil. Maybe not high enough pressure to classify it as +p? But it hotter than standard ammo.
