Default Northampton FONRA Dinner, Gun Auctions, Games, Prizes

The event is April 23, 2013 at the Holiday Inn just west of Allentown. If you've never been to one of these, you're missing a great time.

You get a sit down dinner, cash bar, games where you can win guns, live auctions for guns, raffles for guns, and lots of NRA logo stuff.

The complete information pack is here: NorthCo Friends of NRA

I hope that you are not referring to the Holiday Inn at Route 100.

In the event that you do not realize it they are not firearms friendly.

Last year (April 23 2012) we had 185 attendees. This year, we expect to be at about 250 which is why we moved to the Holiday Inn. They are one of the few who have the space for that many tables and what we need for the games and auctions.

Is the hotel firearms friendly and will you have firearms onsite for auction raffle etc?

Is the s&w ar still part of the dinner?

I'm not certain of that. I'll be checking though. I didn't pick the place, but I'm on the organizing team. Our NRA rep has done dozens of FONRA events there. The Lehigh Valley FONRA group which is no longer together, did all of their dinners there. I can't imagine that they'd oppose carry, but I do plan confirm that it's not an issue.

Yeah, I think I am pretty sure that they are not firearm friendly.

Wow, in that thread you yourself said that it was a specific manager who had taken it upon himself and that the Holiday Inn had no policy against it.

Also Red said "In fact the Lehigh Valley Friends of the NRA dinners used to be hosted here prior to it being split into a Northampton County and Lehigh County events. I have open carried at those dinners, as well as other times at that hotel."

So please stop making negative remarks on 2 different boards because you had one crappy experience with one manager, once.

I can assure you, of the 250 people at our dinner, 200 will be armed and 20 will be OC. If some new manager gives us a hard time, we all get up and leave. The staff can have our meals.

If you would read the entire thread instead of taking the approach you did, you will find that I did follow up with the hotel manager who confirmed that the manager on duty called and discussed the fact that I was there.

The HOTEL MANAGER confirmed there is no specific policy, and no, they do not want firearms in the hotel because it makes guests uneasy.

And yes it was one crappy experience since I stand by my principles and will not frequent places that have issues with me exercising my rights.

Finally, I am sure the hotel will not mind you getting up and leaving, as by the time the event happens and everyone gets up and leave, they will have all your money.

    Have a nice day.

Maybe you just don't understand how it works. If there is no specific policy against it, and if some dopey manager makes an arbitrary decision on his own regarding OC, that is not being "gun unfriendly" by the Holiday Inn. It is an arbitrary decision that the manager is unauthorized to make. As an OC'er you should know the difference. In such a case, you start making phone calls with the manager, up the ladder, requiring him to provide service since there is no policy against it.

BTW: If we leave, no they don't have our money. The bill is paid at the end, and in such a case, it would be disputed as they would have ruined an entire event. But thanks for looking out for us . . .
