clubs near North Hills that are accepting.
Does anybody have information on shooting clubs in the north hills area that are accepting new members? Two that I have checked on both have long waiting lists.
Thanks,
Joe.

You could join Ambridge Sportsmans but that's about 25 min from Cranberry or 79 exit at Wexford/910. I'm pretty sure Millvale at the 79/910 exit is about 1 year wait last I heard.
www.Steelvalleycasting.com is your new home for coated bullets and custom ammo.

Rosedale is accepting new members but has recently gotten more strict about having sponsors. I don't think you can just show up for a meeting and get strangers to sign for you any more.

Thanks. I'll look into Rosedale and North Side.
I bought a permit to use the State Game Lands in Wexford, but I would like to join a club also.
Joe.

When you go to the gamelands, watch the other shooters for a bit before setting up. I walked away a few times this year after witnessing unsafe practices. But its a decent place to go if you have nowhere else

Re: clubs near North Hills that are accepting.
What ^^^^ said. I have had positive experiences in the vast majority of visits and the permit system has seemed to diminish some amount of knucklehead attendance.
That said...just be aware. The last time I went, I grabbed a spot on the line and laid out the wares. When there was stoppage, I hung my targets and came back to the line.
At that time 3 guys in their 20s showed up. After the second FTE in their party. I just stopped and watched for a minute. They didn't know how to hold their guns. They didn't know how to clear them. Not a major issue to me but they were loading full mags which simply told me they weren't familiar with (or didn't care about) range rules.
Whatever....strike 3 and I was out of there. And yes...I violated a range rule by not removing my targets....but I figured I was leaving 4 untouched targets for the boys.

Re: clubs near North Hills that are accepting.
Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely watch for awhile before I shoot. I'm really looking forward to do some shooting, so the game lands will have to do until I find a club.
