FN Five Seven
Been watching these and am soliciting your opinions (not that many have any on here -laughing)
I know this is hardly a concealable firearm, but I so adore the 20-30 round cap on my hip..
I read these accurate as hell out to 50-75 yds.. What is the recoil like? Shouldnt be that bad with a large frame and a small cartridge.. And speaking of this, availability? Cost?
And if any "ban" is coming, I would think 30 round pistols should be right along 30 round AR's....
THOUGHTS?

Re: FN Five Seven
Actually they'll probably want to ban the 5.7 (the round and the pistol) because it's an armor piercing cop killer.
No civilian needs the firepower to murder 30 cops in body armor.

Re: FN Five Seven
Any gun has the power to take life, he was being sarcastic. The antis are up in arms (hah) over the 5.7 because it's great at penetrating soft body armor due to the small diameter round and hyper velocity of said round. I'm looking into buying one but with current pricing I can wait, plus if they do get banned I'll just get an Armscor 22TCM. 5.7 ammo isn't cheap, and as far as I know FN produces most of it themselves
Valorius is a big fan of the 5.7 and could tell you more about it than anyone outside of Belgium.

Re: FN Five Seven
I was under the impression that the armor piercing load for the 5-7 wasn't available for civiliam purchase, and that the ammo we can buy is a lighter load supposedly incapable of AP.

Re: FN Five Seven
That's what they say, specifically I believe it's the steel-core ammo. But in Val's tests he found a couple that would penetrate.

Re: FN Five Seven
I have a 5.7 and do carry it sometimes, I want all my handguns to get some fresh air now and then. There is no recoil to speak off, and from what I have read the bullet has no drop off out to 100 yards. This is my carry round, Elite ammunition T-6, solid copper

Re: FN Five Seven
Just a little follow up. Apparently Valorious has been banned, but I have it on good authority that SS192, SS195, SS198 will all penetrate some IIIA vests as found in the testing that he has done.
Even without the armor penetrating capabilities it's an awesome pistol. The rounds travel from 2300fps+ and some will do 2800 fps, which is just screaming fast for a handgun cartridge. And recoil is almost non-existent. Quite frankly I can't believe that with the prices recently they aren't going for more.
One thing I will say, FN has made quite a... homely gun. But still cool.
