    Default What does PICS mean?

    I'm new to buying rifles so this may be a silly question. I asked a local the price for a 10/22 rifle, he said the price plus 6% tax and 10 for PICS. What is PICS? Thank you in advance and have a great day.

    A background check, PICS = Pennsylvania Instant Check System.

    PICS is the Pennsylvania Instant Check System, it's PA's version of NICS, the National Instant Check System, and it's the database used for firearm background checks in PA.

    It's the instant background check system used by Pennsylvania (Pennsylvania Instant Check System, I think)

    I don't know if anyone answered it yet, but it's the Pennsylvania Instant Check System.
