Think about it "A former Navy SEAL Attacks Peaceful Protesters"....continued on to say "former Navy SEAL suffering from PTSD...." .... "Danger to society" ..... "mental health" .... "disarm" .... "public safety".....
I don't want to write the whole story but I could see this happening to further an agenda.

If some right thinking person punched one of them square upon the nose, that person would be sued- many of the church members are lawyers.

I doubt they will show up for the funeral, they often announce plans to picket high profile deaths but as often fail to attend.

This would be an excellent test for them, though. Of course, the seals are smart enough to bring Westboro bullshit to a crashing halt and maintain plausible deny-ability.

I am looking to forward to seeing the hijinks involved should the westboro wack-jobs drive their shit-stain caravan to Texas.

Some of you know exactly what was up. This isn't the first time that Westboro Baptist church has showed up in Texas. They showed up for some "not celebrity" funerals here and got their asses handed to them. They know that they're not going to get a thing done at this funeral, they're just talking it up to try to get more media coverage. The last time they showed up in our particular area, they were stopped over half a mile down the road and told by some nice gentlemen on bikes AND by the local police that they would not interfere with the funeral, and they cops weren't going to stop the physical force that would make them not interfere. Either that same group will be at this funeral setting up a long perimeter and racking off their pipes and exhaust at the protesters, or some of the police themselves will take care of it. The ceremony will likely be on private property, and we have some quite strict laws about trespassing and the force you can use on trespassers. If their lawyers haven't looked into it, they'll be in for a VERY rude awakening to who the law sides with on that one. He's also from the Odessa area, which is plenty "small town" Texas. It's bigger than some of the towns in the area, and there also just happens to be a lot of roughnecks to go around ;-). Naw, they're just talking to get attention.

If there wasn't ignorant assholes trying to cause more grief to grieving family and friends to a man who has done more for a good cause than any politician, religious group or any other "non profit" organization in existence. This man dedicated himself to ensure that only nation on this planet that has ever even been close to true freedom, remains as free as possible. A freedom that the fucking sheep of this country will never know until it is gone. Then they will wish and hope for a hero to save them from tyranny and the suffering that goes with it.
