I don't see what the big deal is. It's the exact same process as for anyone else, just proofs of residency are needed. My wife had a couple transfers done at 2 different FFLs before she became a citizen and had no problem whatsoever. I can't imagine an FFL refusing to do the transfer or not know how to do such a transfer.
