Chicago police no longer responding to all 911 calls

Wow are these people freaking crazy? Just tell the criminals what crimes you wont even bother to show up for. Are they saying? Steal all you want just please stop shooting people? You ignorant criminals are making our restrictive gun laws look bad.

dont think its a horrible idea considering the state that city is in...not responding to medial things just are not emergencies makes sense given their violence rate..budgets keep getting cut and they want to take away our rights to protect ourselves...it wont be long for a complete nanny state

More window dressing. I seriously doubt their crime problem is due to officers being distracted responding to vehicle thefts.

How about letting responsible citizens keep a gun at home and carry a gun outside the home... that might cut down on the need for fast response to 911 calls, too.

Interesting, this has been happening for a while in places like the UK, France, Germany, and Denmark. Consider these countries the forerunners of what the current US government wants to arrive at.

Emergency Responders simply won't go into certain neighborhoods in these countries because any call is likely a setup which will result in their people being pelted with bricks, shot at (yes, even without any way to legally own a gun), and their vehicles and equipment set on fire.

The idea of not negotiating with terrorists and criminals is effectively dead, and every time we show them that we are easy to train to stay out of their areas, they get bolder. Look at the news stories of those countries and how these incidents have escalated over time.

Disarm the citizens, limit which 911 calls police respond to, only leads to more killings and violent crime. Next will be Marital law

Chicago police are no longer responding in person to 911 calls reporting vehicle theft, garage burglary or simple assault in a change aimed at freeing up officers to deal with more serious crimes.

How many garages are attatched to homes in a city?

People that steal aren't dangerous?

So its better for 50 officers to show up at the scene of a shooting when the victim is already dead instead of showing up at the scenes where they could really save someones life?

Worst yet they announce that they will no longer be showing up.

This is the place where thugs fire Honest-to-God automatic weapons, (not semiauto rifles misnamed "assault weapons") in the air at midnight on New Year's Eve. Anything can happen in this city that has become corrupt and lawless.
