If MUM was scarred(some are ground off completely, some are partial. And some have some line slashed in to it.), its a surrendered weapon after Japan accepted the surrender.

    Scratched Type 99 sniper

    Another scratched Type 44

    ground off Type 97 Sniper

The MUM on my T38 cavery is ground. MUM on my T99 short rifle is scrached heavily. Then my early T99 with airplane aight and monopod is battlefield pick up, so its intact.

There were a website that sold parts for Arisaka I found while back. Let me see if I can find it.
Keep in the mind that the Arisaka's were more less hand made. Parts usually do NOT interchange. and if lucky enough and non matching parts fits, they usually fit losely.

    Edit - Try these guys

The bolt still cycles pretty smooth.

This is just a pipe dream but I would love to get it working

Sadly the chrysanthemum has been whacked with a bayonet but I have identified it as being made at either
