    Default Kel-Tec P11 - Range Report

well I finally made it out to the range with my P11 ...

    shot the 10 rd x 2 = 20 rounds
    shot the 12 rd x 2 = 48 rounds

after that those 68 rounds here is what I have come to ...

I wont be using it for anything other than a last resort gun

    1st mag 4th round FTF , 2nd mag 2nd round FTF , 3rd mag 6th round FTF
    the first time thru ...

second go with the mags ... shot the 12 round ones first ... 9th shot FTF
second full 12 went off without a hitch ... the 10 round mag the second time
    thru 3rd and 4th rounds FTF ..

so out of 68 rounds I had 6 FTF's out of 68 rounds .. to me thats not a
    good percentage ...

I had field stipped and cleaned the gun even before shooting it ..

so I would like to hear if anyone else experienced that bad of a first time
out with a Kel Tec P11

No it's not great. If the gun is new, get a couple of hundred rounds through it for break in, that may take care of the problem. Also, what ammo where you using? Try a few differnt loads, some guns just won't run with some ammo. My #1 P3AT would not run at all with Silvertips. Many autoloaders need a good break in. If it dosn't work out, let Kel-tec fix it.

wow sorry to hear about ur p11. Mine on the other hand, I took it out the first day i bought it and ran 200 rds of cheap cci blazer and wolf ammo though it and it went bang everytime and never even oiled it. I carry federal hydra shoks in also with it and they also go bang. Send it back to kel tec they will make it right . My p11 is my main carry gun aside from my FN and I have ran about 800 rds through it without a FTF or FTE, and i trust my life to it.

Mine is great! Run a few hundred rds through it before losing faith. If it still is PROBLEM call kel tec to see about sending it back, they're very good to work with. Also, try www.keltec.org -- lot of good info there!

I had the same problem with my P11, it FTF at least once per mag. Then I polished the feed ramp and the FTF stopped. I did however trade it in for a Taurus PT111 after the blisters on my finger from the loooong trigger pull became a nuisance.

My P-11 has never failed to go bang in a few thousand rounds. -shrug-

It's not a fun gun to shoot, but it is boringly reliable.

My P-11 has been perfect since break-in, about 250 rounds. Now has over 2700 thru no failure since then.
2 P3-AT's both have been excellent and 1 P-32 also perfect.
All are light guns subject to limpwristing. You do have to pay attention to that.
