Default My Grandfathers Ruger Super Blackhawk

The other day my grandfather called me to see if I would go with him to the range to shoot his never been fired Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 magnum. I was shocked when he said he was taking it out because this was his favorite gun, so we get to the range he looks at me and said "here you go, I want to see how the recoil is" so I load it up and fired it. Now its his turn he puts one round in and fired it, he looks at me and said "here you go take care of it the recoil is to much for my arthritis. My pap cant remember when he bought it is there a way to search the year by the serial number ?

That handgun is worth more than any AR-15 you could ever buy simply because of the fact that it was given to you by your grandfather.
The fact that you were both together when it was fired for the first time simply quadruples its pricelessness.

    Enjoy.

Call Ruger and they can tell you when it was made. If there is another way, I have yet to find it. That isn't to say there is no other way, just that I have not found it yet. That was very nice of your grandfather.

I was really shocked he gave it to me since he kept it unfired for so long, but I will keep it clean and lubed up. It means a lot to me believe me, and will go really good with my collection

My family sold off all of my grandfathers guns without even consulting me. I'd pay LWRC prices with 45 Pmags to get my hands on any of his guns. Even the cheap little Marlin .22 I learned to shoot with. Especially that gun.
