Steel City Challenge - All Steel Shoot - June 1, 2008
I am posting this for Richard Eastman. Rich is a serious IPSC shooter, a certified CRO, and an avid PAFOA group shooter. I shot this match last year and it was a ton of fun. I can't wait to do it again this year. Email Rich for the registration for or with questions. Get in now. The even is limited to 200 participants.
2nd Annual Steel City Championship
6 Stages of Knock-Down Steel – 150 Rounds
Sunday June 1st, 2008
I just wanted to let you know that the Pitcairn-Monroeville Sportsmen’s Club will be hosting the 2nd Annual Steel City Championship on Saturday May 31st(reserved for staff) and Sunday June 1st, 2008. There will be 6 stages of knockdown steel, min. 150 rounds, with Texas stars, speed racks, fireman’s targets, pepper poppers, classic poppers and steel plates. Last year we had 99 competitors for the one-day event. We’ve expanded to two days and will be accepting the first 200 entry applications. Currently, I am putting together a list of shooter’s e-mail addresses. Please send your list to me at
pghshooter@gmail.com.
Email for the entry form, which may be copied, circulated, filled out, etc. For additional information contact Richard Eastman at 412-968-0866 or e-mail him at the above address.

Hey guys and gals, if you are ready to shoot some steel, this is the event!
All steel, all the time. Bring all your ammo, then stop and buy more on the way!
I wouldn't miss it for the world.
I am going to help set up on Saturday morning, and then shoot the course Saturday afternoon with one gun. Then I am going to shoot through a second time on Sunday.
It is tough to find this much steel in one place.
Great times. Don't miss it!VEGETARIAN: Native American word meaning "bad hunter"

Is it cool to go just to tryit out and have some fun?
I have never done anything of the sort before, and totally suck (comparitively) at this stuff.

Buck, last year when I did the challenge, I had not even gone to an IPSC event yet. I went through ALOT of ammo, but really had a great time.
I got to know some of the IPSC guys, like Rich Eastman, and started coming to the practices.
As with everything I do at PMSC, the shooting is fun, there is competition if you want it, but the quality of the company and the good times make up 80% of the fun!VEGETARIAN: Native American word meaning "bad hunter"

Shawn, the cost is $20 per gun. You are limited to pistol calibers only. I would say that 9MM would be the minimum that the steel will be calibrated for, so a .22 would not knock it down.
I'll be running my .40 minor loads in my Para on my first run through. On my second, I am going to run my 9MM AR (if I have it. You know how RRA is!).
Mark, you don't live too far away, you just need to get one of those trucks that runs on water instead of gasoline! This type of shoot is entirely different from a group shoot. Much more formal. Much more competition. Still tons of fun, but a different flavor of fun.
It would be great if we could get together an ALL-PAFOA squad. I am in, and I'll bet we'll see the Lycanthrope as well. Who else?VEGETARIAN: Native American word meaning "bad hunter"

June 1st is my birthday!
I've sent the email concerning getting in. Ever since my first PAFOA shoot (September), I've been completely hooked on shooting steel. Nothing quite as satisfying as hearing that distinctive "cling!" and watching the target fall over.
Any idea on what hours this is going to run?Last edited by eXceLon; March 31st, 2008 at 06:42 PM.
