First range trip with my p95
I am a new handgun owner and final got to the range with my brand new p95. Indoor range was nice but a quick trip to plink some steel outside was COLD. I had a few shells that didn't eject, think i should have oiled it a bit rather than trusting the factory oiling. I was shooting low to start but as i got used to the sites i started to get better.

Don't know if you meant you're a new to handgun ownership, or if you're a handgun owner who has a new gun... either way just a suggestion the very first thing I do with any new gun I acquire is clean it. It gives me a chance to get familiar with breakdown/reassembly. Also makes sure all essential areas have the proper amounts of lube. Too much isn't a good thing either.

Clean it.
The "factory oiling" is shipping/storage. The gun will jam until properly cleaned.
When you do take the slide off to clean it, you have to flip the ejector down. It is the bar that is visible in the magazine well. Otherwise it wont come off.
That little bar will flip itself back up when you arent looking, so make sure you have it flipped down before putting the slide back on. Otherwise it will go halfway on and get stuck.
