Default Re: WalMart - Winchester White Box problems?

While I have not had any problems with WWB, there was an individual at our club that did during a clss... I was a first hand witness to the issue.

9mm In this case, the round went in to battery (on a glock), the striker hit the primer...there was a very slight pop... but no BANG... we were all thinking squibb.. etc.

The weapon was fully locked up, and could not be taken out of battery...

we were able to dissassemble the top end, and remove the extractor around the round, and got hte weapon back to gether

the Primer was pushed out of the case..the bullet was still in the case.

Loaded up again... checked all rounds for flush primers (they were)

    same thing happened.

we found that the flas hole was not there, going from the primer to the powder....which is why it popped out, and the bullet did not go down range.

This is the only instance (out of a few k WWB I have personally shot) where I have encountered a problem

Please tell me that you're not suggesting that Walmart has some secret agreement with Winchester to market sub-par ammo!

Some of you people kill me with your conspiracy theory BS!

I like Winchester White Box (the 100 round value packs). Cheap, always cycles (at least through my guns), never a FTF or FTE, and very acccurate.

I put more WWB ammo through my guns than anything else.

Maybe i got lucky, but all my handguns will eat pretty much anything i throw at them. Except for my Ruger P95, it'll eat anything 9mm, except Remington UMC.

I've never had an issue with WWB from Walmart in any of my guns.

I have, however, had issues with HP ink cartridges bought in Walmart.

never had any FTF from WWB yet, i fired about 300 thru my 9mm, i mostly use American Eagle 115gr and 124 gr FMJ . i feel the cheaper Federal Champion 115gr RN FMJ bullets are more accurate then the WWB and cheaper at the Exton Walmart 8.97 a box of 50.

Certainly no problem in my Ruger GP100 that I picked up today, shooting 38 Special. I've shot it in 40 and 9 mm as well in my XD subcompact and Ruger P95DC respectively. It does seem to be a "dirtier" round. My understanding from gun dealers is that Wal-Mart can mass purchase from the factory at prices they can't touch. I prefer Remington, Federal and American Eagle but it's a relatively cheap round certainly good enough for shooting paper.
