Default Just paid way too much for a pistol!

I have to get this off my chest. I'm usually very good at getting fair or good deals on firearms but today I really shit the bed on it. I've had a Smith and Wesson Shield on pre-order since July 17th through my favorite LGS, cost is only $400 dollars for the Shield.

Today I walked into a different store that I usually do not frequent and there lying in the case was a brand spanking new 9mm Shield. Mind you I've been obsessed with obtaining a Shield since early this past summer and never even laid eyes on one in person. The store had just got it before I arrived, in the owners words "Well that lasted all of 7 seconds". It was listed at $529.99 and I paid every cent of that price, knowing full well that I just paid a $130 dollars more then I should have.

I guess the only comfort I get is watching Shields go for $550+ on gunbroker.

I'm keeping an eye out for a shield in 9mm as well. Like you, I happened across a local place that had one in stock in .40 last weekend. It was the first one I'd seen in person, and while it wasn't the caliber I'm looking for it was really nice to finally be able to handle one and decide that I am 90% sure it is what I want to get as soon as I can find one reasonably priced. I thought that his price was ridiculous and he was only asking $505 for it though. There is another local guy that has a waiting list for Shields when he can get them in. I plan to stop by his place tomorrow night and get added to that list.

You bought it, it's yours, don't give it a second thought and enjoy it without 2nd guessing yourself.

Lets see I've spent 130 dollars on a dinner, a tank of gas, tickets to a concert. At least you have something to show for it.

Don't feel bad, I did the same on my latest purchase. $399 plus all the fee and tax stuff for a wheelgun most probably wouldn't spend more than $250 out the door on. It was worth it to me. Exact make, model, and caliber I was looking for, and in stock. I'll pay a bit extra for not having to wait any longer than necessary.

When you're happy with your purchase, it doesn't really matter how much you paid. You knew the value of the weapon going in, and were still willing to pay the additional. Enjoy your new sidearm.

I considered the Sheild myself, but am not real fond of snubbies. I prefer a bit more distance between my sights for accuracy, and a bit more weight in the barrel for balance.
