Erie County not issuing new LTCFs?

I did a quick search and didn't come across anything, so I apologize if this is a dupe. My mother works at the Erie County courthouse and mentioned to me this afternoon that the deputies placed signs on the front doors stating something along the lines of, "No new gun licenses being issued until further notice". She didn't get a chance to speak with any of her friends from the sheriff's office, so she didn't get any details, but is pretty damn sure with what the new signs said.

Does anyone have any more info as to what the deal is?

The state system for capturing the photo and printing the cards has been down for days. Apparently it's may also be affecting driver's licenses as well. Nobody knows when they'll have it fixed.

why would this make it leagle to delay people from carring? i carried the first 12 years with nothing more then a tearoff. it was just a pice of paper that i folded up and had with me.

They have 45 days to find a reason to not issue (shall issue system).

The most they could delay is the actual picture on the license. Perhaps a temporary one would need to be issued by day 46. I don't think they can summarily refuse to issue or accept applications. IANAL.
