Senate Judiciary chair rejects Dianne Feinstein's assault weapons ban
The Democratic chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee did not endorse colleague Dianne Feinstein’s assault weapons ban at a packed Capitol Hill hearing on guns Wednesday in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., shooting. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., called for “common sense reform,” that closes loopholes in current gun laws and enforces background checks. Buthe did not endorse Feinstein’s tougher ban. “I know gun store owners in Vermont,” Leahy said. “They follow the law and conduct background checks…why should we not try to plug the loopholes in the law that allow (criminals and the mentally ill)

Vermont is weird.

In Burlington, city council advanced a vote to ban semi-autos so the local fish and game that allowed cops to train there for free... banned cops. LOL They said they could not support the city or officers due to the actions of the council."The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

Re: Senate Judiciary chair rejects Dianne Feinstein's assault weapons ban
We must keep reminding them who sent them to Congress, that they have sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States, including the Second Amendment and that any vote in favor of further gun bans or gun restrictions will cost them hundreds of thousands of votes in the next election. Don't let up, and don't stop telling your congressional representatives how you feel on this issue!! It takes only a few minutes to contact them by email or phone and the time you take now may be what preserves your gun rights and the Second Amendment. The flood of emails that we can generate will be noticed!
