Wolf 5.45x39 55gr Soft Point Ammo Gel Test Results
Just finished up testing the Wolf 55gr 5.45x39 soft point round from my Iron Clad Armory AK-74 variant. The test was shot at 15 ft, 58 degrees, and 300 ft of elevation and the Clear Ballistics "FBI spec" (their term, not mine) gel block.
Results:
-2742fps, 917 ft/lbs energy
-The round expanded pretty well
-Penetration 14.25''

Thanks for the review.I didn't know softpoint was available in 5.45,so that's really nice to find out.
I have an AR,same length barrel so I would expect similar results from it.Μολὼν λαβέ

You should test this same ammo but 7.62x39. I was always under the impression that the Russian SP ammo does not perform or expand well due to the bi-metal jackets. But the 5.45 seemed to do very well.
