Asked to leave The Mütter Museum for Open Carry
So Yesterday I was asked to leave the Mütter Museum ( medical museum). I was there for about 30 minutes open carrying my Glock 23 in a Viridian Tac-Lock level II holster.I was walking around with my roommate, her sister and her sisters friend. There weren't any " NO FIREARM" signs at the door. So I knew what was going to happen when one of the employees looked an my firearm, got the ghost face and walked to the Director of Operations office. I then heard "security please come to the front desk". The Director of Operations and the" security officer approached me and the following conversation occurred.
Director- Sir may I please speak with you over here.
Me- Sure.
Director- I notice that you have your sidearm with you, this is private property and I'm going to ask that you either secure your firearm in you vehicle or wherever you chose to secure it, or I am going to have to ask that you leave.
Me- well my vehicle is in an in unsecured parking garage and I am not going to pay to get back I to my vehicle. I will respect your wishes and leave. Can I get a refund.
Director- certainly
I was escorted to retrieve my jacket and to receive my refund of $10.
I also asked asked for a business card for the Director.
Forgot to mention that we also went the Museum of Natural Sciences. No one said anything and there were tons of innocent children there who didn't seem the least bit worried about my evil black firearm.Last edited by EMT-B_Medic Student; January 30th, 2013 at 01:47 PM. Reason: Additional info

Did you mutter under your breath the whole way back to your car?

In order to get intelligent answers you must speak intelligently.

Did you at least get to see the guy that was constipated for a couple of months?

I think it went exactly as it should. You were calmly exercising your right to be armed and the museum calmly exercised their private property rights. I can easily imagine a much more unpleasant exchange and outcome for you, especially in Philadelphia.
