Default Stippling/Grip Tape - which brand is best?

I want to get some grip tape on some of my handguns - cut to fit type of thing. Looking for suggestions on brands which are favorable.

I love Tru-Grip. Well, I prefer Devcon and aggressive sandblaster media, but Tru-Grip is the next best thing.

just ask them for scraps. They always throw away a ton. I get it free all the time from skate shops.

    Tractiongrips.com

They have a few styles (rubber/sandpaper-ish) and a few colors. I really, really like the rubber textured ones. I used the sandpaper type one time and took them off after a few weeks. I know some guys love them but I thought they were too abrasive - maybe some are less aggressive but these tore up my hands after a range trip. I also had them on my CC gun and my shirt was constantly being grabbed by the sandpaper type - no issue with rubber.

I'll throw talongrips out there. Met them at SHOT and they're good people - husband and wife outfit.

I still have some that I made for 1911's. I used regular sandpaper type grip tape from lowes. If you need some let me know.

This ^^^^ I have the rubberized version on my XDm and my PF9. Haven't shot the XDm with them installed yet, but I love the difference they made to the PF9. I had used a Hogue and a Limbsaver sleeve before and the Talon Grips are hands down the most comfortable for me.

+1. I went to a skateboard shop told them why I needed some. They looked at me (the old guy) a little funny then went to their trash can and gave me a big stack of cutoffs. I could totally cover 20 pistols with it. Asked them what they wanted but they gave it to me for free.

Grip sheets for covering skateboards are made for harder use than for a pistol grip. Holds up great!

    ^That!

I bought a 8"X24" sheet of skate board tape from a local shop for around $8. I used about a 1"X3" piece on one of my 1911 front straps that didn't have checkering. I suppose I'll find a use for the rest of it someday.
