pulled over with gun in the car ...what would you have said

I find it boring to only have friends who see the world as I do.

I have plenty of friends that I do not see eye to eye with, however I can't say I have the pleasure of having a jackbooted thug as one.

To each his own I suppose.

That jackbooted thug is probably happy to have at least one friend, good for you to befriend such an undesirable.

During any encounter with police you should immediately inform the officers you are armed and skilled by loudly yelling "I have a gun and I know how to use it!"*

I have gotten two tickets for speeding and both times I have had guns in the car.

The first time was the day before deer season. The cop was pretty nice about the whole situation and asked me to roll the gun over so that he could see it was unloaded. ....END of that encounter

Second time was this summer. I had a rifle in a locked case on my back seat of my my civic. The cop didn't see the gun until he was about to walk back to his cruiser to write me a ticket. He was like "is that a rifle in that case" to which I replied "yes". He promply got all scared and told me "not to make any moves towards the rifle" in a pretty loud and obnoxious tone.

What should i have said to the guy? I mean I really wasn't going to try to pull out the gun case on the side of the road,unlock it, load a few rounds and then try to put one through his front windshield.

What do you think would have happened if I had said something like "officer I don't think that gun is big enough for shooting pigs".

WHAT RIFLE IN WHAT CASE? I know, I'm just trying to be funny. "Yes" was a pretty good answer. Then perhaps "It's all being transported in a safe and legal manner - is there anything else?"

I would have done what I always do when dealing with overzealous cops. I'd say "Calm down, Barney...", then go to court and pay the fine.

If he is frightened by a rifle in a case in the back seat of a car, maybe he should look for a new line of work.

It's a good thing the cop isn't a WCO for the Game Commission. Just about everyone they encounter is carrying a rifle and they're usually loaded.

A friend who is cop once said "I am the police and you WILL do what I say."

A responce to your friend: "I'm a tax-paying citizen, and you can go (bleep) yourself....officer" (with the "sir" sounding more like "cur"...some Marines will understand).
