Source for "new" replacement firearm screws???
I am in the process of fixing an old Ithaca M37 for one of my wife's bosses. I got the parts I needed to fix it from Numrich, but would like to replace the boogered up screws. I fear that the replacement screws I would get from a surplus house such as Numrich would be boogered up too. Does anyone out there make "new" replacement screws for old guns???

Re: Source for "new" replacement firearm screws???
The bane of gunsmiths everywhere.....someone using a standard screwdriver and not a proper hollow ground tip on screwheads. One of the first things I look at when perusing used guns.
That said, Numrich has always supplied parts to me in good condition, though they are used.
The Ithaca 37 was a pretty common and popular shotgun, Numrich isn't your only choice here for in spec replacement parts. I would hit Brownells, they have a good supply of parts also.
Last resort is gettting one of the gunsmith screw assortment sets, I have several, and they basically come long and need to be cut to length. Every once in a while I will have to put it on the lathe and trim the head for those weird sizes.
Last resort is to take the buggered up head and hit it with a file to clean it up, then apply some cold blue to it to blacken it up.
I would hit Brownells first myself.

Do you have a screw gage to tell if it is a common size? Like a 4-40 or 6-32?
I'd figure out the size first, then just buy a couple, cut it to length and blue it to match if it needs it as well.

I'd check the small parts bins at Lowe's, etc.
Or, look at these places:

You could also try Jack First (out of South Dakota). He carries (or has his machinists make) all kinds of obsolete parts.
