1911 punisher handgun
I have been thinking / dreaming of changing the look of my 1911 into the popular punisher 1911 ( from the movie Punisher) . I don't of anyone who has one so I figured i would ask you all on here. Who has one and how do ya like it ? also does the comp affect accuracy at all ? And would i need a longer barrel and spring to put a comp on mine ?

There's a lot of different types of compensators that you can get for the 1911. The quickest and easiest is just replacing the barrel brushing with a compensator. You wont need to change anything. I can't say I've ever noticed a difference in accuracy. If you get a good comp, it may help you get back on target quicker due to less muzzle flip.

Re: 1911 punisher handgun
I ran a bushing comp on my SW1911 for awhile. Didn't really notice a difference in recoil...but it looked cool. I've since retired it to the parts box.

Re: 1911 punisher handgun
The 1911's out of the 2004 Punisher used old Kings compensators, AFIAK the company has since gone defunct. From what I read on those, they replaced your current barrel with one threaded for that compensator.
The bushing compensator changes the look, not sure about actually helping any, I have a friend with one on his ruger 1911 and he claims it does but I never test fired it both ways to see if it wasn't a placebo type help

Yea, the placebo type doesn't help much since the slide taking the comp with it kinda defeats the purpose in expelling as much of the gasses as possible. There is a clear difference in the real thing (threaded type).BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Re: 1911 punisher handgun
Good lookin guns guys. Thanks for the info on the differance between threaded and the bushing compensaters. I was just going for looks but I think Im just gonna do it the right way and do it with a threaded compensater. and take my time buying the beaver tail and all that stuff.
