Default Is this normal behavior for Philly cops?

Well, i got pulled over in the (undisclosed) area with my little nephew in the car for god knows what but here's how it went down.

Cop: TURN OFF YOUR CAR AND PUT YOUR KEYS ON TOP OF THE HOOD

    Cop: license,registration and insurance

    Me: ok

Cop: do you have a weapon

Me: yes, i have a firearm

For those who have read my post before editing, you know what happened, for those who didn't, the outcome was not good

FOR LEGAL REASON, THE REMAINDER OF THE POST WAS TAKEN DOWN.

It will be a while for a follow up but i will keep you guys posted. Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Now i've been pulled over before with a concealed weapon with very positive outcomes and it never went to this extent, and I believe that the cops IMO went a little too far with the guns to my head. I was very nervous and it kinda felt like i was being violated. [QUOTE]

    "A little too far"

"kinda felt like I was being violated"

Wow, gun to the head would be a "little far", yeah. You need an attorney.

If your encounter is as you have described, your rights have been horribly violated. Contact a lawyer as soon as possible and remove or redact the majority of your post until you contact a lawyer.

Good Christ, Philly's sounding more and more like a police state every damned day! The ONLY positive is see here is that the "cop" didn't preemptively shoot you in the damned head!

Something seriously needs to be done at the state level about Philly. These people need to be brought back under the control of the citizens before they start randomly shooting us in the back!

Remove your post. Ask Mark who he used for an attorney.

    Or, do nothing. Your choice.

    Yup, sounds like normal behavior.

    Not good behavior, but normal.

I think you handled the situation well given the situation. I might not have been so nice, most likely would have made things worse though. You had asked about next time.. I would instead of just saying yes when they ask about weapons, I would go so far as to say I have my license and concealed carry firearm with me in my government box. Maybe when you answered with just yes, they might have thought it to be a threat vs self protection. Now, since that didn't happen, and they still went as far as putting a gun to your head, definitely call a lawyer and stand up for the rest of the responsible gun owners in PA.

Pointed a gun at your head, assault, illegal search and seizure....

I dunno guys. If this ever happens to me, I would start a lawsuit the same day

No, not normal. What the Police did was wrong on thousands of different levels. The actions of the officer was not normal, nor within departmental guidelines, or normal acceptable police practice. I suggest contacting a lawyer.
