    Default Pillar Bedding?

I'm planning on doing a pillar bedding job for a Browning A Bolt, this is going to be my first bedding project and I want to make sure I do it right. What level of difficulty should I expect to run into while doing this. Is there really any specific tools I'll need besides the pilot bit to drill the actual holes for the pillars?

How do I know if I got the torque right on the actions screws and I'm not stressing the action??

    Thank you

Umm, part of the difficult depends on lots of things. Personally, I think doing the job with a drill or drill bit would complicate things quite a bit and make for a pretty messed up job. You could do it in a drill press if you were quite careful, but it's honestly something that should be done in an end mill. You obviously need a compound to make the pillars stay. Being that you're worried about torque, that would mean that you need an inch pound torque wrench. Again, I wouldn't personally advise someone to do the job you're talking about by hand with a drill. It's just so easy to not get things perfectly plumb, which will result in stress in the action regardless of how the action screws are torqued.

You'll need a good file. And Devcon 10110 with Kiwi neutral shoe polish (in the tin) as a release agent. Don't even bother with Acraglass.
