You see, Reid may still be just a few votes short of the 51 he needs to break Senate rules and use the “nuclear option” to destroy the Senate filibuster.

But if McConnell cuts a deal with Reid to deliver the votes he needs, he’ll have cleared a path for the passage of Barack Obama’s Gun Ban Plan.

If you go to the National Association of Gun Rights website (NAGR) they have a form you can fill out for which they will fax a petition to your Representatives and Mitch McConnell on your behalf.

Mcconnnell is the minority leader in the senate for the Republicans.

a filibuster which could be used by Mcconnell is essentially a block for legislation from the majority senate (reid). Reid wants to make a deal to stop a filibuster from blocking any stupid gun legislation. if this happens the republican minority will have no say in any gun legislation that comes down because the republicans only have 45 out of 100 seats in the Senate.

this is what i make of it at least. someone with more law knowledge correct me if im wrong.
