Like most of you, I have been in contact with politicians at the State and Federal level. I got a reply from state Senator Bob Mensch this morning:

Adam,

Thanks for your note.

I intend to hold hearings into the violence in our society from video games, movies and music forms. There is something happening in our society that is changing our youth to behave the ways they do, and it’s not the second amendment. The second amendment as well as the other nine amendments in the Bill of Rights are inviolate and all need to be protected.

The Obama administration has, just like they did with healthcare, have provided nothing new and no solutions to the reasons a handful of our youth have decided to imitate the violence they see in movies and video games. It’s sad that our President and his minions always seek to blame someone without ever trying to do with the root causes.

DANG, I like this guy, good solid reply, but I think the video game/ music is a red herring. That stuff (in my mind) is more symptomatic of the bigger problem, lack of respect, improper upbringing, moral decay. All pointing three fingers back at ourselves and our families.

Agreed. I like his response as well. Far better than some of the garbage I've gotten back from our elected officials.
