Can anyone identify this stock?
Was looking for a Savage Supers Sporter stock for a colleague and came across this. The owner did not know the make/model and was willing to part with it for a relatively good price. Can anyone identify this mystery stock?

Re: Can anyone identify this stock?
The buttplate with the trap door looks a lot like an 03 or 03a3, the stock itself looks like an 03 "scant" style, note how it goes back with no grip.
It has the Same dark color like an old military stock, but it looks like somebody checkered it,which is probably why it was removed from the rifle. I would guess it came off of a military rifle somebody sporterized."Disperse you Rebels! Damn you! Throw down your Arms and Disperse!" British Major Pitcairn at Lexington April 19, 1775

Sporterized version of a M1903 type "S" stock or M1903A3.
Scant stock has a slight pistol grip.Last edited by Hawk; January 22nd, 2013 at 05:10 PM.

OK, I will pass this info on. The guy who was interested was hoping to fit it to his Savage Super Sporter (1940) 30-06. Looks like we will continue the search. I appreciate the gouge.

As for your Super Sporter, I found an interesting article on the rifle itself, it appears the model number is a Savage 45, I looked real quick at Numrich, no stocks in stock unfortunately.

You might want to call around and do some searching, Jack First comes to mind, they don't have a parts website like Numrich, but are great on the phone...Link: http://www.jackfirstgun.com/order.php
