.22lr - Where Is It?
I can't believe the total lack of .22 everywhere! Did the buying frenzy result in people sucking up every box in sight? I'm pretty sure the Feds didn't buy it. Very strange that even .22 is so scarce.

LGS had it for $45.99 for Remington bulk pack..
3 customers bought atleast 2 bricks a piece while I was there...
Interesting times...You can only draw so many lines in the sand before you are backed into a corner...

Re: .22lr - Where Is It?
Honestly, .22LR was the first ammo I started buying in quantities larger than usual when this started.
If things were bad in 2008 when Obama was elected, I KNEW what we were headed for with the shooting in December 2012.
I knew that all other calibers would sell out too, but I knew that if I planned on doing any plinking for the next few years, I'd better buy the ammo I could afford NOW while it was still available.
In the past, I don't think I ever kept more than 1 1/2 550 rd boxes on hand at a time. When you needed it, it was available.
Couple the panic buying with the fact that the last several years have seen a DRAMATIC increase in .22LR shooting, and you have what we have now - empty shelves.
The rising cost of ALL ammo over the years was the driving force behind so many .22LR firearms being purchased. At the last group shoot I attended at least HALF of the evil black rifles seen were NOT .223, but .22LR. Who can afford to shoot .223 these days?
Shooting habits have changed quite a bit over the last several years.
.22LR is more popular than ever. It's little wonder that it can be so hard to find.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: .22lr - Where Is It?
When I was to Cabela's this weekend, they were cleared out of ALL .22LR, even the super expensive stuff.
Never saw so many empty shelves. The USA is now a banana republic. Only without the bananas....or the Republic.

Re: .22lr - Where Is It?
Wal-Mart is hit and miss because they put the stock out and one guy comes and buys all of it at one shot. Then someone whom just wants a box or two is SOL. It is why a lot of places are limiting the amount you can buy at one shot.
Had to stop in at Wal-Mart today and overheard the gun counter lady saying the warehouses are out. And as I said above one or two guys buy up everything they put out. Good luck. Paying stupid prices keeps the stupid prices around faster.

Re: .22lr - Where Is It?
^^ I was at cabelas hoping to find 22lr also how ironic lol. But I did find a box of hornady 60 gr vmax bullets. I bought that box only because I did not want to leave empty handed.
