Non Resident LCTF Renewal
I live in southern Delaware and my PA non resident lctf is about to expire.
It is from Centre County. I see from reading posts here that I must appear in person to renew.
Do I have to go back to Centre County, or can I renew anywhere?
Are there any Counties reasonably close to DE that would issue with one visit?

Re: Non Resident LCTF Renewal
As long as you have your DE carry license or permit to carry you can renew at any sheriff's office in PA. Of course, some do not like to issue to non-res (even tho they are supposed to by law), so hopefully someone from that area will let you know here. Or just call the PA sheriffs closest to you and see which ones will.

Re: Non Resident LCTF Renewal
Sheriff Denny Nau in Centre County has traditionally been the most "friendly" when it comes to issuing non-resident LTCF permits. I believe that to still be the case, however, according to his website:
http://www.co.centre.pa.us/211.asp
License to Carry Firearms Applications Via Mail Discontinued as of March 31, 2011
As the result of requirements of Act 66, 2005, applicants must have their photo and signature captured electronically into our system. At this time there is no manner to complete these requirements without the personal appearance of the applicant.
Therefore we will not be able to process any mailed applications received after March 31, 2011.
I can't speak for non-residents, but Berks County is very permit friendly to residents, and they're probably one of the closest places to DE that you might have a shot at getting a non-resident LTCF without too much hassle. All the counties closer to you (Delaware, Philly, Chester, Bucks, Montgomery) will require more time, more money, and I'd wager a bet will flatly deny non-residents.
Berks will issue on-the-spot to residents at one of 5 locations in the county; they have a roving permit unit that sets up shop at a different location each day of the 3rd week of every month to make it easier for residents to apply. If you can't make it on the 3rd week, you can always apply at the their office in Reading (the county seat). However, I'm not sure what they'll do for non-residents; I would check out their website and maybe call them so that you're not wasting your time.

Re: Non Resident LCTF Renewal
Thanks for the help.
I really only need to add Georgia to the states covered by my DE license, so I guess I'll just spend the money for a FL license.

Re: Non Resident LCTF Renewal
Lancaster County is known for non-resident issuance...even if they do add a few extra illegal requirements.
