Need help with Antique Gun Passed down to me

My Mom passed this gun to me .. She said it was her Fathers .. I was on the internet trying to do some research .. Thanks for any help in advance.

Marking's on the barrel .. on the one side .. Has E L G and a small star and a letter U .. On the other side it has a PF with a Crown above it.

Any idea date or where it was produced ? Value ?

"ELG" is the proof mark for Liege, Belgium.

If you can find a Belgium proof mark website you ought to be able to at least bracket the production date. I'll guess circa 1845.
