New Bersa 380 Thunder Plus Scratching
I have a brand new 380 Thunder Plus. I only have decocked a few times to get the hang of it. I can see an arced scratch from doing on on the main body of the weapon. Is this normal? Am I overreacting?

Re: New Bersa 380 Thunder Plus Scratching
The finish is my only complaint about my Bersa. In less than one year it's has significant holster wear from being in a leather slide. I've been considering a duracoat/ceracoat finish for it, just as a little insurance.

I am sure I am being nitpicky, but it was something I noticed and did not want to screw it up because of this.

It happens pretty much with any gun. ..some just faster than others.
If I remember correctly, the Thunder 380 series receiver is made of aluminum, so it is bound to wear faster than steel.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

This was one of the first carry guns my wife used 7 or 8 years ago, and it was a dehorner's delight. You can remove the safety lever and file away some of the area that is scraping.

BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Yeah, maybe I should ask the dealer since it's brand new. Probably not that big of a deal anyway.

Re: New Bersa 380 Thunder Plus Scratching
Update: Upon closer examination, I identified the wrong part. It is the slide stop that is scratching the body. It happens when the lever moves due to the slide coming back. Ergo, it will happen all while I am shooting wearing that finish down to the aluminum I would suppose. It is a small arc but is noticeable.
Now, with all this in mind, I imagine I am overreacting as that is a natural function of the weapon?Gunowner99 - NRA Benefactor Life Member
