    Default Remington R1 1911: Thoughts?

Looking at this particular 1911 model, mainly because it fits my budget and I know where I can get one. What does everyone think about this one? Anyone have any reviews or thoughts on it? I'm looking at the stainless model.

The one I have has been flawless for over a thousand rounds. The barrel bushing is tight enough that you definately need a bushing wrench to turn it. I like it.

I don't care for the huge billboard sign on slide, thick bushing with standard plug look, and one I played with had bit of long creep and gritty trigger, but otherwise I hear they are good, and pretty reliable guns.
For the money, I'd go with RIA tactical(both RIA and R1 feature cast frame and slide with plenty of MIM parts, but RIA tactical can be had for mid $400 if you can find it), but being that the R1's are manufactured in US is huge plus

I love mine. Have a couple thousand rounds through it. The trigger was a little gritty at first but it smoothed out. I carry mine %95 of the time an you can tell. The finish in the slide and the frame didnt hold up very long from carrying in a blackhawk serpa but i still like it. The one thing i dont like is the shorter trigger pad. If you have short fingers it would be ideal but ive got long fingers. One of these days ill replace it. Mine is not the stainless so i cant speak for the finish on it.

They are priced about $200 more than they are worth. RIA's are a better buy, IMO..and cost less.

After reading several posts on R1 that Gun had posted, I changed my mind.

I'd go with RIA Tactical instead of R1.
Seems like that the there are some finishing issues that may needs to be sorted out.
I understand that the most of issue I saw was posted back in 2010~11 with early production guns, but things like slide stop working itself out is not something I expect from any dependable guns.

I'd go with RIA. Its cheaper, its track record show that its pretty damn dependable, and RIA's warranty is top notch.
I'd at least wait until I read more positive then negative
I mean who the hell is E-RPC, LLC?
