Default Question for Collectors: How can you have 5 of the same?

There are (5) #1 of 300 Custom Rugers on Gun Broker.

Am I missing something or is this some type of scam

#1 is the model as in: Ruger #1, which is a single shot rifle. Ruger also made a #3, a carbine size single shot rifle. In this case it was a special run that there were only 300 of this particular Ruger #1 made. He happens to have 5 of the 300 made.

He probably only took one picture and posted it in all the auctions. He may also be trying to rip people off. You could ask him.
    Some people just plain suck.

Thanks for the information guys. I guess I'm the only one who interprets 1 of 300 as the first one of 300 produced.

No matter how many he had they would all still be "1 of 300".

No, they are all different sellers. Just appears that 1 of 300 is a marketing thing rather than what I thought, "the first of a custom 300 run"...kind of like what they do with baseball cards (earlier numbers tend to be worth more).

Every one of the 300 is 1 of 300, but only the first one is #1 of 300.
IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.
(Did I really need to say that on an Internet forum? LOL)

The serial numbers are different, at least on the ones I can see.

Looks like its a dumbass marketing thing. Let's make them all 1 of 300. I'd rather have the "1st of 300" than "1 of 300" and judging by the way these were done I don't know how that could be tracked other thank from the factory. Unless all the serial numbers are sequential but who knows.
