ALERT!!! Henry rifles
if you recently purchased a Henry rifle or go to look at one in a store be sure to check the chamber. I just recieved and email from one of my distrubutors stating that Henry recently shipped firearms with loaded ammo!!!!. so please check all the chambers on any new Henry rifles (which should be done anyways).

Re: ALERT!!! Henry rifles
They Brady Campaign's paying Henry a lot of money to do this - just to further prove their point - guns are dangerous.

Re: ALERT!!! Henry rifles
Now that's strange, but I have seen in our local shops where the
owners have been putting chamber locks on all rifles that are on
display in area's where the public can "fondle" them at will .
There have been incidents where anti-gunners have came in and loaded
the rifles without being seen and then they start their shit .[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]"

Re: ALERT!!! Henry rifles
So Henry fouled up and MAY have sent a rifle or two with a round in the chamber, so what.
The gun enabler I deal with (and all his employees) will open the action and clear the firearm before handing it to the customer and will check it again before placing it back in the display counter or rack.
I also check the action on any firearm handed to me and will open the action before handing back to the store employee.
IMHO this is a non issue if people follow the safe gun handling rules.

Re: ALERT!!! Henry rifles
Ditto. I've been taught the same way, never hand a loaded gun and never accept a loaded gun. This morphs into a rule of never hand anyone a gun unless the action is open, etc.
As a side note, if antis are loading guns and returning them loaded, there ought to be some security tapes that show this. It's clear what they want to have happen: ADs. Lock 'em up. Charges: DC and risking a catastrophe.

Re: ALERT!!! Henry rifles
I was told it was Henry (not as I posted originally Marlin) that had a problem with rounds in the factory sealed NIB rifles. I work part-time, at night, at a local Walmart. The Manager of Sporting Goods was selling a NIB Henry 44 mag lever to a customer. The Manager opened the action.... 4 times and 4 rounds pop out! He thought he had cleared the magazine so he pulls the trigger la de da and POW!!! number 5 goes off about 10 inches from the head of the associate working with the customer on the 4473. Of course the associate has problems hearing the rest of the day, blows a hole through a ceiling light fixture, the ceiling and the cinder block roof side wall! This came directly from the associate that nearly lost his head.
Edit to state it was a Henry NOT as I originally posted a Marlin. I spoke with the manager about it last night when I asked if he had heard about Henry's as posted here. He guesses that the associate was more shook up that anyone thought.
