1911 Questions?

Ok,I had my 1911 sent off to SA to get the beavertail replaced.

I just got it back, and when I put my grips back on the gun, the beavertail got stuck. After playing around with the grips for a while, I found out it was the pressure put on the ambi safety from the grips that was causing interference with the grip safety. Note that my ambi safety seems to stick out a bit from the frame under the grips, I'll take pictures to show what I mean. (It's not flush with the frame, not sure if they're supposed to be like that.)

I took the gun apart a bit and even carved out the grips where the ambi safety hits them to reduce the pressure, but when I put it back together, the sear doesn't seem to be pushing the grip back and it just kind of flops around. Also, if any sort of pressure is on the safety, it still hangs up.

I'm not trying to send this back to SA to wait another few weeks just to get something polished or whatever it may be. Are there any 1911 guru's around Philly that can take a peek at this? It's driving me nuts. I can meet you at Colisimo's at 10th and Spring Garden.
