So yeah...um...9mm ammo anywhere?

My own fault, I know. I waited until the last minute. I've been reading about all this political junk and figured it was elsewhere. Went to Walmart in Hagerstown to pick up some 9mm for a class this weekend, and...empty. No 9mm at all. If I had a .40 pistol I'd be fine, but the 9mm is cleared out. I swore I wouldn't shop at Dick's, but I was desperate. They had some fmj greenbox winchesters for $40 a box--that seemed a bit much and they only had three boxes.

I'm curious as to why the 9mm ammo is gone. I thought that was relatively safe. I can understand the .223 completely.

Anyone want to share some secrets near Greencastle? I promise I only need four boxes! PM me if you want to help a guy out.

It's not a total wash, it's a basic pistol course and the guy provides his own pistol/ammo if you don't have it, but I was hoping to bring my own.

I was out the Gander Mountain in West Mifflin by the Walmart last night. They had several of the 750 round Magtech plastic cases for $229.99. A bit less than $0.33 a round.

$14.99 is WAY to expensive for 9mm. I get the 100 value packs for $20-$24

People are going nuts getting 9mm ammo because most of the "hi capacity" handguns are in 9mm. Do you have a 45 or 40 that has a magazine that can hold 15-17 cartridges?

yes, 3 40s 2 45s, 1 that holds 16 w/+2 floorplates 1 that takes 14(close enough)

9mm, 22lr, and even 7.62x39 are the fallbacks, when 223/5.56 are scarce. They can all use the AR lower and are less exspensive to shoot.

Also, they are each key SHTF calibers for various reasons.

The Ruger 1022 rifle is almost as hard to find as the AR...almost.

Good thing for me a buddy gave me 1000 rounds of 7.62x39. Too bad I don't have anything to shoot it through. lol

Now I need to spend cash I don't have just to shoot free ammo.
