I had one done for my job, I was just curious if this would be the same check that will be done if I apply for a conceal carry permit ?

It's likely that the FBI check was more thorough than a PICS/NICS check. I would say that if you got the job and have not committed any crimes or have been committed to a mental institution, you should have nothing to worry about while applying for a LTCF.

Checks for employment don't utilize the FBI NIC system, but use other third party services to look at your records, apart from government positions of course. If you passed that check and no criminal records were found then there shouldn't be any problems with passing the NICS check for your carry permit. If you had an SSBI done, it's much more indepth than a PICS/NICS check.
