Re: Harrisburg 23JAN2013 - Part 2 - ACTION!!
Just an idea for anybody that plans to attend upcoming rallies, print out some kind of flyers and ask your local republican and democrat clubs if they would allow you to hang them up or leave them for people to take with them. Since not everyone uses online forums, and most people in these clubs are probably proactive when it comes to politics, this would probably be a good way to spread the word and increase future attendees!

Re: Harrisburg 23JAN2013 - Part 2 - ACTION!!
Vic,
That's an excellent suggestion. In the case of this rally, you can see that there really wasn't a lot of time to prepare. I can also say that there were no established resources, for example, who could do what and when.
But in the short time given, under the coordination and leadership of John (PreserveandProtect), many individuals got together and offered what they could, so that in time a coherent group was formed that got so many bases covered. There was a lot that went on, especially prep work in Harrisburg, that led to a successful event. And without the help of this forum, PAFOA, there would have been far fewer that would have gotten the word.
Now, we have people and contacts in place. Future events will be handled far more smoothly, and one of the first items to be addressed is the communication aspect.
We need ALL Pennsylvanians concerned with the affront to our 2A rights to act! While we'll do our part to get the word out, every single person at last week's rally needs to tell 10 others of the next one!
One other note: many State reps were highly impressed with our display of unity. One of the most significant factors in this favorable reception was that each and every participant in our rally acted with dignity and respect, and did not rely on intimidation to get our point across. We cannot stoop to using raw emotion, like CeaseFire does, to present our image to the public. Only through sane and rational conveyance of our stance will we have any hope to sway legislation in our favor. We are in a championship game of chess, and each move we make must be the right one.
Thanks for a great idea. Regards - DonLast edited by donstrom; January 26th, 2013 at 12:30 AM.
