Backyard plinking in Charlestown township?
I was out jogging last Saturday morning and I heard semi-automatic rifle fire echoing in the area. This was in Charlestown township in the vicinity of Rt 401 and PA Turnpike. The area has woods and fields but is encroached by developments and residences.
It sounded like a .30 caliber rifle (loud bangs, not pops) but could be a .223, I just don’t know exactly how a .223 sounds from a little distance (since I usually hear them loud along the firing line). At first I thought it was a garand but sometimes I would hear more than 10 rounds being shot in succession.
It wasn’t the first time I’ve heard it in the area. I heard it back in 2008 as well. I figured whoever owns the tracks of woods and fields in the area does some backyard target shooting. Interestingly, all these patches of woods are posted no hunting.
Does anyone know if you can do backyard plinking in Charlestown township?

Re: Backyard plinking in Charlestown township?
Ive done it several times in that are with smaller cartridges. charlestown only has state police patrols so if it is against the law itd be some seriously bad luck to get caught
