Re: Carrying your permit?
Does your license have to be on you when you are driving.

Re: Carrying your permit?
The answer to the second question is "No." The answer to the first question is a little bit more muddy.
If you carry concealed, or carry in a vehicle, the law states you are required to have a license. The law does not specifically state it has to be on your person.
However, if forced to show your license and it's not on you, the officer might make a telephone call to confirm that you have one, or he might arrest you and everything gets sorted out later.

Re: Carrying your permit?
18 Pa.C.S. § 6122: Proof of license and exception
(a) General rule.--When carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle, an individual licensed to carry a firearm shall, upon lawful demand of a law enforcement officer, produce the license for inspection. Failure to produce such license either at the time of arrest or at the preliminary hearing shall create a rebuttable presumption of nonlicensure.
(b) Exception.--An individual carrying a firearm on or about his person or in a vehicle and claiming an exception under section 6106(b) (relating to firearms not to be carried without a license) shall, upon lawful demand of a law enforcement officer, produce satisfactory evidence of qualification for exception.

Re: Carrying your permit?
Better to be safe then sorry. There should be no reason to leave your home without ID. Hell my dad taught me that when I was 16 and got my DL to always have ID on me. Just use the ol rule of thumb that most do with their carry weapons "I would rather have and not need it, then to need it and not have it". Same rule applies to you LTCF
