    Default Glock G22 Gen4

I never given a much thought, but I had oppertunity to shoot friend's Gen3 G19, and noticed that finish on my G22 is alot more shinier then her's(they are both Black).

Is finish on Gen 4 different then previous gen?

Within the last 4 years or so Glock has been going through some changes in the finish. Some guys falsely refer to it as "tennifer" but that is the metal treatment to prevent corrosion done prior to the actual finish.

From my understanding Glock went to a PVD greyish coating on a lot of newer parts including some slides. Two of my Gen3 (circa 2009) barrels have the greyish pvd finish on the barrel and the slide is a fairly shiny black. The slides on several are black but shiny black, some are the greyish finish. If you look at some of the older Gen2 guns for example the finish is almost like a matte black. I have found the newer coatings seem to wear a little better. My main concern is that the gun don't rust and it works.
