A gun is a machine and any machine can and will have problems. IMHO, the PT1911 is building an impressive track record and the expensive 1911 guys don't like it one bit! LOL
he said that Springer was from the 80's and hes the third (IIRC) owner. Never cleaned the extractor.

I get your point, but I think thats just a bad example.

I only shot one PT1911 once, and the thumb safety broke on me. i understand an example of one is not enough to draw conclusions, but I hear this one issue a lot with Taurus.

That is the reset point, it is exactly how the Glock should be shot, IMO.

You can do the same thing with a 1911 and be VERY fast with it.

Actually it was made in 1998, and I'm the second owner. But yea, I've never cleaned the extractor. However, after I bought the gun it was completely disassembled, inspected, and cleaned by a qualified gunsmith and given a clean bill of health. I've put 2,000 rounds through it since then. Just wanted to clear that up

My PT-1911 has been a great pistol so far. Not a single problem.

That's how every semi-auto pistol's trigger should be shot.

One thing we can conclude from this thread is that nobody likes to have their ox gored.

I never really thought about it with the 1911 being that it's SA and barely any travel in the trigger. The Glock has a little longer travel and in the forum I was reading that was the reason for the trigger tips.

That is the second time I saw those grips on the black PT-1911 and they make the gun look AWESOME! Is there any grips you know of that would compliment the stainless PT as well? Now I'm kinda pissed I didn't get the black one. LOL
